Jaipur, April 5. Chief Minister Mr Ashok Gehlot said that the State Government is working with full commitment to strengthen the infrastructure of health services in the State. The health security of every family in the State has been ensured by providing cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh through Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana.
The families included in this
scheme are also being given accidental insurance up to Rs 5 lakh. OPD and IPD
services are being provided free of cost in all the Government Hospitals in the
State from April 1. The Central Government, should also provide health services
totally free in all the Government Hospitals so that people could get social
security, he said.
Mr Gehlot was addressing the function
after laying the foundation of IPD Tower and Institute of Cardiovascular
Science to be built for Rs 588 crore in the premises of Sawai Man Singh
Hospital on Tuesday. He said that a new beginning has been made in the medical
field in Rajasthan from today with the laying of the foundation stone of IPD
Tower equipped with ultramodern medical facilities. The objective of the State
Government is to carry the health services up to every village and hamlet. He
said that the State Government will provide the Right to Health to all the
people of the State by bringing a law in this regard soon.
The Chief Minister said that the State
Government is making efforts towards providing health related education to the
school children from the primary level. The Education Department is preparing a
draft in this regard.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Mr Shanti Dhariwal said that it is the beginning of a new era with the foundation
of the IPD tower. Medical tourism in the State will get a boost with the
building of world-class medical infrastructure and Rajasthan will become a
leading State in the field of medical & health. The tower with a height of
116-metre will have a helipad. There will be an additional facility of 1200
beds with the construction of the tower.
Health Minister Mr Parsadi Lal Meena said
that this is the first tower of its kind in the country that will have
ultramodern facilities. He said that the number of outdoor patients in SMS
Hospital is around 15,000 per day. In such a situation, after the tower is
built, the patients coming to SMS will get relief and they will get all
facilities in one building.
Chief Secretary Smt Usha Sharma said that
all sections of the society are being benefitted from schemes such as Nirogi
Rajasthan, Chief Minister Free Medicine and Diagnostic Scheme and Chiranjeevi Swasthya
Bima Yojana in the health sector. The work of setting up Government Medical
Colleges in the State is going on at pace.
Renowned specialists of the country including Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Dr. VK Paul, Dr. Randeep Guleria, Dr. SK Sarin etc took part in the programme and they appreciated the State Government for the innovations and programmes made in the medical and health sector.

Shetty said that this initiative of Rajasthan in the field of ultramodern
health services is a model for other states in the country. He said nurses have
an important role in healthcare and are in great demand in developed countries.
"Looking at it, we have to prepare more and more trained nursing staff
along with skilled doctors," he added.
Medanta Heart Institute CMD Dr Naresh Trehan said around 700 angioplasties are being performed in SMS hospital every month, which shows that the hospital is catering to the health related needs of a large number of heart patients. People from other states will come here to get heart surgeries done after the Institute of Cardiovascular Science is built.
NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul said that this
day will be written in golden letters in the field of health services of the
country and Rajasthan. The concept visualised by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to
provide world class health care services to the people of the state through IPD
Tower is exceptional. He said the world will get to see a new and ultramodern
image of SMS Hospital with this IPD Tower and this hospital will develop as a
workplace for innovations, telemedicine, research and nursing
education.
AIIMS Delhi Director Dr Randeep Guleria
said that it is an unprecedented initiative taken by any State in the health
sector. The last two years have been very challenging for the whole world due
to the corona pandemic. In such a situation, it is necessary that investment in
health services is promoted and the laying of the foundation stone of IPD Tower
and Institute of Cardiovascular Science is an ambitious effort in this
direction.

expert Dr SK Sarin said, "We have to prepare doctors who work with
dedication." He praised the State Government for starting free accident
insurance of Rs 5 lakh with Chiranjeevi Health Scheme.
In the beginning of the programme, SMS
Medical College Principal Dr Sudhir Bhandari welcoming the guests informed
about the facilities available in the college.
Prior to this, the Chief Minister and other
guests laid the foundation stone of IPD and the Institute of Cardiovascular
Science amid the chanting of mantras. The Chief Minister also unveiled the stone
plaque.
The Chief Minister visited the two-day
exhibition organised by the Health Department. The general public through 60
stalls in this two-day exhibition are being informed about the innovations done
by Sawai Man Singh Medical College, State Government's Nirogi Rajasthan,
Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, Chief Minister Free Medicine and Diagnostic
Scheme along with Janta Clinic, Health and Wellness Centre and telemedicine
etc.

Rajasthan Medifest-2022. During this two-day Medifest 18 interactive sessions
will be organised in which expert doctors will have dialogue.
