ASHA School Jaipur under the aegis of Sapta Shakti Command celebrated International Day of Disabled person from 1st to 3rd December 2021 in sync with the International Disability Day theme of 2021- “Leadership & Participation of Persons with disabilities toward an inclusive accessible & sustainable post-COVID-19 world”.
ASHA school Jaipur is functioning since 2016 & has been providing education care & all necessary therapies required by the children as per their special needs. The school has strength of 40 specially abled children from Military Station as well as civil population of Jaipur. ASHA School has been constantly supported by AWWA members of Sapta Shakti Command under close supervision of Regional President AWWA Mrs Ravneet Bhinder. Special emphasis has been laid on monitoring the functioning of school post long closure due to COVID-19 pandemic.
A comprehensive programme was planned for the children of Asha School, Jaipur Cantt, with special focus on the theme – “Greater effort as care towards the disabled for better management”. Various events were conducted for the specially abled children of ASHA School to showcase their talent & encourage them for maximum participation in educative, extra-curricular & sports activities. A painting competition for children & Webinar of teacher, parents, students and OIC on ‘Special educations and Paralympics’ was conducted on 1 Dec which was participated in by renowned & successful civil dignitaries with disability to include Mr Sonu Bhola a Para Olympic player, Karam Veer Purskar & Surma Award winner & Mrs Ritu a qualified Rehabilitation Psychologist & Counselor, presently Professor in Tapovan College, Sri Ganganagar.
A medical camp for surgical, Medical, ENT, Eye, Dental check up was organised on 2nd & 3rd Dec for all the children with follow up at Military Hospital on required basis. Psychological counseling of care-giver was also conducted by counselor under the aegis of Military Hospital, Jaipur. In addition a cultural programme was also organised and participated by the children of ASHA School with great enthusiasm.
